Describe what you believe to be your most substantial accomplishments to date, explaining why you view them as such. |
My most substantial achievement was to implement an XYZ Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution for a leading retail client. The goal of the project was to eliminate the dependency on many disparate systems and platforms and drive everything from one enterprise wide application. |
I was leading the Supply Chain Module in this ERP implementation. The main problem was that Information was widely distributed in different silos. The project was supposed to be rolled out worldwide comprising seven regions. Each region presented unique technology challenges. It was simply improbable to think seven different solutions catering to each region. |
In order to overcome the problem, we took bottoms up approach. We undertook a small pilot project with Canada. Depending upon its success in Canada a generic solution was devised. Though it took us five months to establish a generic solution it took us only two more months to integrate rest of the systems and technologies. The client could apparently see a clear ROI. It was probably saving them multi-million dollars on a yearly basis. As a reward for this whole exercise, I was asked to technically lead the Supply Chain team for all seven countries. It was really a huge success for the company and for myself. Leading and coordinating a team of 14 members and constant interaction was also a great learning experience. |
I view it as a substantial accomplishment because it built credibility for me in the organization. My manager and colleagues trusted me professionally. I was able to perform under pressure. It was established that I could establish strong relationships with clients and lead big teams successfully. |
